U.S. Embassy Trains Emergency Response Group of OMON

On Thursday, April 28, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe conducted a security exercise in coordination with the Emergency Response Group of OMON. This exercise was the culmination of a three week training event sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Antiterrorism Assistance program to increase the reactionary capabilities of OMON personnel in emergency situations. Their training included instruction on land navigation, close quarters combat, vehicle maneuvers, and hostage rescue. This is one in a series of planned training exercises that the U.S. Embassy will conduct in partnership with OMON.
