U.S. Embassy Dushanbe Seeks Grant Proposals to Celebrate 30 Years of U.S.-Tajik Relations

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, May 7, 2021 – The U.S. Embassy Dushanbe Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce a call for grant proposals to help the Embassy mark the 30th Anniversary of U.S.-Tajik relations through a video campaign to develop the skills of young journalists.  This program supports the development of Tajikistan’s media environment and digital journalism capabilities.   

This funding opportunity seeks to:  1. Organize reporting tours for journalists, amateur journalists, and bloggers to sites of U.S. government assistance programs outside of Dushanbe, 2. Train amateur journalists on video editing, photography, and effective packaging of digital content for social media, 3. Record and edit a series of videos to highlight U.S.-Tajik relations over the past 30 years, 4. Produce a documentary on the subject of U.S.-Tajik relations.

The award will be between $20,000 and $40,000 for a 6-8 month project.  All Proposals must be received by June 13, 2021 at GrantProposalsDushanbe@state.gov.  Proposals cannot exceed 12 pages.  Applicants should pay close attention to the Public Affairs Section’s goals, priority program areas, and target audiences when developing their proposals. 

Since 1992, the U.S. government has provided $1.8 billion in assistance to support Tajikistan’s development and security, and the Embassy has organized thousands of events and programs to bring the people of Tajikistan and the United States closer together.  This project aims to highlight some of these positive stories and develop the skills of young journalists in the process.
