His Excellency Emomali Rahmon
President of the Republic of Tajikistan Dushanbe

Dear Mr. President:

I want to wish you and the people of Tajikistan a peaceful, joyous and prosperous Navruz.

This year the United States and Tajikistan will celebrate 30 years of partnership and cooperation. We have worked together to fight terrorism, combat the pandemic, and build better futures for the people of our countries. My Administration looks forward to working with your country to address common security concerns and deepen collaboration in the year ahead, including support for Afghan peace efforts. We also look forward to continuing the C5+ 1 process that began under Secretary Kerry’s leadership five years ago.

I extend my best wishes to you and the people of Tajikistan on this new year and new spring.

Sincerely,
Joe Biden

Dear President Rahmon:

As we approach the momentous occasion of Navruz, I would like to extend my best wishes for a joyous holiday to you and the people of Tajikistan on behalf of the entire U.S. Embassy Dushanbe community.

It is a pleasure for me as Ambassador to be able to convey to you, Mr. President, President Joseph R. Biden’s letter of congratulations on the occasion.

Navruz is a time of renewal and rebirth and an opportunity to reflect on both the past and the future. As President Biden notes, the United States and Tajikistan have a rich history of cooperation over the past 30 years. Our bilateral relationship is a true partnership. The United States stands with Tajikistan in support of its sovereignty, and we remain committed to mutual cooperation to help ensure security, stability, and prosperity for the Tajik people.

As we mark the new year and new day that Navruz represents, I am confident that the best is yet to come, and that our broad and deep relationship only will continue to expand to the mutual benefit of the Tajik and American people.

Sincerely,

John Mark Pommersheim
Ambassador
